Ear, Nose and Throat

Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) doctors or otolaryngologists are highly trained in both medicine and surgery. They are experts in a wide range of illnesses and conditions related to the head and neck. Our ear, nose and throat physicians provide diagnosis and treatment for all general conditions relating to the ears, nose and throat, as well as for conditions related to taste and smell, head and neck cancer.

Our Physicians

	Denis C. Lafreniere, M.D., division chief, is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he also performed his residency. He completed an internship at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Dr. Lafreniere is board-certified in otolaryngology.
	Gerald Leonard, M.D., is a graduate of the National University of Ireland School of Medicine, University College, Galway Ireland. He performed his residency at the Belfast City Hospital, Ireland and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Leonard completed an otolaryngology residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic and a neuro-otology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, Eye and Ear Hospital. He is board-certified in otolaryngology.
	Kourosh Parham, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine where he also performed his otolaryngology residency. He is board-certified in otolaryngology.
	Jeffrey D. Spiro, M.D., is a graduate of the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse. He performed a surgery internship and residency at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts and an otolaryngology residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital in New York. Dr. Spiro completed a fellowship at the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He is board-certified in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery.
