Urology Residency Program
Message from the Program Director
Thank you for your interest in the University of Connecticut Affiliated Program in Urology. We are part of an integrated hospital network that provides comprehensive primary and specialty care to over one million citizens residing in the greater Hartford metropolitan area and Northern Connecticut. The urology faculty consists of over fifteen academic and clinical urologists who can
provide you with specialized training in oncology, stone disease, incontinence, infertility, impotence, laparoscopy and pediatrics in addition to general urology. Many of the faculty are actively involved in research in addition to student and resident education.
This web site outlines the urology curriculum and provides information concerning the questions most frequently asked by residency applicants. Our program format consists of a preliminary
year in the University of Connecticut Affiliated Program in General Surgery followed by four years of urology training. Some of our graduates choose to enter private practice upon completing
the program, while others have gone on to additional fellowship training and academic careers. Our program is designed to provide you with a competitive, comprehensive education in urology
that will allow you to follow the career path of your choosing. We appreciate your interest in our program and look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Peter Albertsen, M.D.
