John
Dempsey Hospital
Established in 1975, John Dempsey is a 204-bed hospital that serves thousands of residents of urban, suburban and rural communities throughout the state and beyond.
John Dempsey provides convenient, routine inpatient and outpatient services, including an emergency department which offers the only 24-hour dental emergency service in the area; modern
surgical suites; wellness and preventive health care services and much more.
The hospital's distinctive research and teaching environment has lead to the development of specialized programs including the Pat and Jim Calhoun
Cardiology Center, the Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center, and the New England Musculoskeletal Institute.
The Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center consists of an expert team of cardiologists, hypertension specialists, and surgeons that offer top quality care to diagnose and treat diseases of
the heart and blood vessels. Services include open heart surgery, angioplasty and a new heart rhythm program.
The Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center is committed to providing expert compassionate care while pursuing the newest discoveries in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
Carolyn D. Runowicz, M.D., director of the Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center, is the immediate past President of the American Cancer
Society.
Specialized care in the treatment of athletic injuries, and rheumatologic and orthopaedic conditions is offered at the New England Musculoskeletal Institute, located in the new
Medical Arts and Research Building. The institute also provides services for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and houses an extensive rehabilitation facility,
as well as modern imaging services.

Group and University Dentists
These Physicians and Dentists are
the multi-specialty group practice of the University Schools of Medicine
and Dental Medicine. More than 350 physicians, dentists and other health care professionals within
the group are available to serve you with a complete range of programs in more than 50
specialties.
Some specialties are also available in our Simsbury, East
Hartford and West Hartford offices.

Primary Care Doctors
UConn physicians provide primary care services for the entire family in
four
locations: Farmington,
Simsbury,
East
Hartford
and West Hartford. From geriatrics to pediatrics, UConn doctors are
up-to-date on the latest advances and innovations in health care. The focus
of the care is prevention, wellness, screening and ongoing management of
medical problems. UConn physicians are board certified with varying subspecialty interests including geriatrics, women's health,
ophthalmology and more.

of Connecticut Health Center
Ongoing research at the
University
of Connecticut Health Center has led to significant advancements in a variety of
areas of health care, including the treatment of arthritis, cancer and heart disease.
Patients at John Dempsey Hospital receive the benefits of treatment by attending
physicians with access to this research. The University of Connecticut
Schools of Medicine
and Dental Medicine educate the new generation of physicians, dentists and the health care
professionals, and pass on the benefits of advances in research to patients everywhere.
