Food and Nutrition Services

Diet

The foods you are allowed are determined by the diet your doctor prescribes. Registered dietitians and dietetic technicians are available to counsel you on the diet your doctor has ordered. They will also answer any questions you have concerning nutrition and evaluate your nutritional status. Occasionally, you may not receive the meal or food item you requested because of a special test or diet restriction.

Menu

Extensive choices are available on the patient menu, such as classic turkey dinner, lemon ginger vegetable stir fry, various pasta dishes, grilled items and even personal pizzas. Patients order their same-day meals by phone from a diet technician, who is aware of any diet restrictions. Room service is available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and orders are generally delivered within 45 minutes.

Special Meals

The Dietary Department will make every effort to provide special meals to meet your needs. Be sure to check with your nurse or dietitian for assistance.

Special religious, ethnic, or personal dietary needs may be met upon request. Beverages, such as coffee, milk, and juice, are available on each floor.

Special-occasion cakes are available upon request. If you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary while hospitalized, please let us know.

Food Court Service

Visitors may dine in the cafeteria located on the main floor of the Health Center. A wide range of items from full meals and hot entrees as well as beverages, desserts, sandwiches, grilled items and snack food is available. For more information, please visit the Food and Nutrition Services web site.
