Here’s a Look at Some Programs of Interest
The Pat and Jim Calhoun Cardiology Center offers a complete range of diagnostic services as well as preventive cardiology and state-of-the-art
surgical procedures. Services include exercise tests, nuclear imaging, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and electrocardiology. Key to it all is the modern 3,500 square foot
cardiac catheterization lab, where the latest diagnostic interventional procedures including angiography and angioplasty are performed. We also have an outstanding open-heart surgery program

The Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center provides evaluation, individual counseling, rehabilitation and treatment by physicians and
nurses from multiple specialties. Areas of expertise include medical oncology, radiotherapy, surgical oncology and gynecologic oncology. Patients have access to the latest research and

The Sports Medicine Center has fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeons working with physical therapists and other sports medicine

The UConn Center for Osteoporosis is home to nationally recognized experts in osteoporosis and bone biology. Physicians use
Dual Energy X-ray Absorption – the gold standard for bone density testing – to diagnose and evaluate patients. Physicians plan individual treatment plans for each patient, and also participate
in research on the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis.
The Charlotte Johnson Hollfelder Center for Women’s Health, conveniently located off the main hospital lobby, offers
regular and preventive Ob/Gyn care, breast health services, osteoporosis care, integrative medicine consultations and classes, Reiki, massage and the new Celebrate Women program. Free to

The Emergency Department is the only full service emergency department in the Farmington Valley. This is important to remember
when every second counts.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has provided critical care for thousands of babies born prematurely, or with other medical problems,
since 1975. It was the first NICU to serve northern and central Connecticut, and remains a leader in neonatal care, with one of two regional transport teams in the state.
